The Project Development Office (PDO) of the Salesians of Don Bosco, through the P-TVET Office, has commenced a Training of Trainers (ToT) programme to integrate green and digital competencies into revised Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) curricula.<\/p>\n

The training, currently taking place at JOBITECH Abuja from 25 to 28 May 2026, brings together 20 participants from Don Bosco institutions and the Federal Government Technical College, Orozo-Abuja. The programme forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen vocational education and prepare trainers for the rapidly evolving world of work.<\/p>\n

As industries continue to advance technologically and face growing demand for sustainable practices, the training seeks to equip participants with modern pedagogical approaches, digital capabilities, green concepts, and improved assessment and testing methodologies aligned with labour market realities and quality assurance standards.<\/p>\n

Throughout the sessions, participants engage in practical learning, collaborative discussions, and knowledge-sharing activities designed to strengthen their ability to deliver industry-relevant, future-oriented training within their respective institutions.<\/p>\n

The initiative also reflects the growing importance of integrating environmental sustainability and digital innovation into technical education, ensuring that young people are equipped not only with vocational skills but also with the competencies required for emerging opportunities in today\u2019s workforce.<\/p>\n

Facilitators continue to guide participants through approaches that support curriculum improvement, competency-based learning, and effective assessment systems that respond to current industry needs.<\/p>\n

The programme is sponsored by BMZ and Don Bosco Mondo and implemented under Global Program Two (GP2) through Don Bosco Tech Africa and PDO Nigeria.<\/p>\n

Through initiatives such as this, the PDO remains committed to strengthening TVET systems, improving training quality, and empowering young people with relevant skills for sustainable livelihoods and national development.<\/p>\n
