Being educated today, in the Nigerian context, is not enough to guarantee employment considering the wave of unemployment across the nation. Relevant training is essential to solving social and economic problems of any society. It is obvious that the provision of necessary skills for the teeming youth will help them get meaningful jobs to have decent lives.
This will reduce their availability for violence, thereby promoting peace and development. This is the mission of the Salesians of Don Bosco. The Salesians through the TVET Centres have graduated over 6000 young people skilled for the world of work in Nigeria and beyond.
