The Salesians and lay collaborators gathered this morning at the Salesian Delegation House to mark the World Environment Day (WED). Highlighting this year’s theme – ‘’Celebrating Biodiversity’’, Mr Steve Igbokwe and Mr Cletus, both from the Provincial Development Organism, sensitized the people on the need to love, care and protect our God given environment. The issue of COVID -19 and nature, environmental pollution, global warming and safety were also raised. The brief gathering came to end with a strong exhortation to a renewed sense of commitment towards caring for the earth, our common home. In the words of Pope Francis, “We received this world as an inheritance from past generations, but also as a loan from future generations, to whom we will have to return it!”
