The first known case of the deadly Corona Virus (COVID-19) was announced in Lagos Nigeria in February 24 2020. A rapid spread and subsequent increase in the number of affected persons across many states of the Federation gave rise to an imposed two weeks’ lockdown and a subsequent two weeks’ extension in 3 major states of the Country, the epicenter inclusive.
In response to the situation, the Salesians of Don Bosco in collaboration with the Estate Task Force embarked on sensitization program and distribution of relief items to staff and members of the local community of Iju, encouraging all to adhere to precautionary measures issued by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on how to curb the spread of COVID-19.
