Empowering Young Girls in Tailoring/Sewing
The training project ‘’Post-COVID Relief through the Provision of Skills in Tailoring for Young Girls in Lagos and Ijebu Ode’’ initiated by the Provincial Development Organism (PDO Antenna) Nigeria commenced in November 2020 in Lagos and Ijebu Ode. The implementation of the 1st Phase (November 2020 – April 2021) trained 10 beneficiaries in Lagos and 5 beneficiaries in Ijebu Ode.
Training in the 1st Phase commenced in November 2020 and ended in February 2021, the trainees then went for their internship in March with the monitoring team supervising the activities while they were under the internship. After this compulsory internship, the successful beneficiaries were offered starter packs. The provision of these starter packs to the selected 10 beneficiaries (for the 1st Phase) marked the end of the 1st Phase of the training. The goal of the skill project is to empower young girls to become self-dependent and to improve their livelihood.
Great thanks to Missioni Don Bosco Turin, Italy and Mission Office New Rochelle US for the great support.
