Today, March 14, 2025, marks the second Friday of Lent, a sacred time of deep reflection, prayer, and service in our journey of faith and charism. In observance of this spiritual season, the Salesians and staff of Don Bosco gathered this morning at the Provincial House in Iju, Lagos, Nigeria, to observe the Stations of the Cross; a powerful devotion commemorating the passion and sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

A Gathering of Faith and Commitment: Rev. Fr. Raphael Airoboman, SDB, led the event and offered heartfelt prayers for the Salesian community, staff, confreres, and laypersons dedicated to advancing St. John Bosco’s mission. His words emphasized the significance of faith, service, and unwavering dedication to the Salesian charism.
During this sacred moment, Fr. Raphael acknowledged the indispensable role of donor partners whose unwavering support enables the mission to uplift and transform the lives of countless young people and vulnerable communities across the African Nigeria-Niger province. Recognizing their generosity, he offered special prayers for these donors, appreciating their commitment to empowering youth through education, skill development, and faith-based initiatives.
Faith in Action: Communal Service and Spiritual Growth: Beyond prayer, the observance of Lent was further demonstrated through acts of communal service. The Salesian community organized a general cleaning exercise at the church, oratory grounds, offices, and Provincial House. This initiative reflects their commitment to faith and their dedication to fostering a clean, healthy, and welcoming environment that nurtures spiritual and personal growth.

Carrying the Lenten Spirit Forward: As we progress through this Lenten Season, the Salesians encourage all believers to embrace the spirit of reflection, service, and gratitude in our hearts and commit ourselves to the mission of St. John Bosco, ensuring that faith and charity continue to shape the lives of those we serve.
Well done, PDO community.
