The African Environmental Day celebration for Ijebu –Ode(Technical TVET Centre was held at the St. Joseph Nursery and Primary school Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. The theme for this year’s celebration was ‘’Taking Care of Our Environment – Planting for the Future’’. A talk was given by Mrs. Oyinkansola Benedict ( Local Job Service Officer) on “The importance of taking care of our environment, making it clean and safe in relation to tree planting” was delivered. The interesting part of the program was the planting of trees by each of the classes; Primary classes 1-5 had a representative to plant a tree.
The headmistress, two teaching staff, the Salesian representative, the Centre Manager and the Local Job Service Officer all planted and the school pupils watered the trees. A total of 15 trees were planted.
