The Project Development Office (PDO) of the Salesians of Don Bosco, Africa Nigeria Niger (ANN) Province, has officially launched a training program for establishing a Mission Office in the province.

The two-day training, held in Abuja on October 20th and 21st, 2025, marked a major step toward strengthening the province’s capacity for sustainable resource mobilisation and mission growth.

Fr. Eric Mairura from the Mission Office of the Generalate led the training. He emphasised that the establishment of a Mission Office goes far beyond fundraising; it is a strategic effort in resource mobilisation deeply rooted in the Salesian charism.

He explained that the Mission Office would operate under the Provincial Economer’s Office, ensuring proper coordination and accountability. According to him, “The Mission Office is a pastoral engine for resource mobilisation, distinct from the Project Development Office (PDO), and will have the capacity to solicit support both locally and internationally.”

Key participants in the training included Fr. Raphael Airoboman, the Provincial Economer; Fr. Ambrose Anene, who will oversee the Mission Office; Fr. Stephen Niyi, Bro. Martins PushParaj, and Mr Joseph Bassey, among others.

The launch of the Mission Office training reflects the Salesians’ ongoing commitment to building stronger structures for mission sustainability and community development.

As we move forward, we are confident that this initiative will enhance our impact, strengthen collaboration, and foster growth in our mission to serve young people and vulnerable communities across the province.

Together, we continue to work for God’s glory and the good of humanity.
